Prior to any wedding ceremony it is the sole responsibility of the couple getting married to obtain an Alaskan marriage license. An application with the requested fee amount must be submitted to the Juneau Vital Records Office, and takes 3 business days to process. To ensure that you receive the proper documents we recommend mailing your application 30 days prior to your wedding date.
Before:
The soon to be married couple will meet with the officiant at the predetermined desired location where the ceremony will take place with the optional reception following afterwards at the same location or at Alaska’s Capital Inn.
During:
After the wedding ceremony is over and the appropriate signatures have been applied to the license, the wedding officiant will file the form back at the Alaska Bureau of Vital Statistics office.
